I’m different and that is O.K.

I’m random and strange and that what this post will be about. A short story on being wierd:

Relyt Senoj made his way to school on a pink sparkly bike. His clothes were inside out and backwards and his shoes were on backward and untied. He wore his backpack backwards and he wore no socks. Then he got to school. People laughed and video taped him,  and called out funny names, all except for one. As he made his way towards her, he smiled not even noticing the others around him.She did the same. She wore the exact same thing as Relyt, except in blue. “Hi Dnaleri,” he said, for her name was Dnaleri Eugah. She was wierd and so was he. And I bet you’ll never guessed who joined them. The one and only Aim Sniktaw. “Do you wanna hear a story Aim?” said Dnaleri and Relyt. And the story was: “Last night I met Dnaleri, my future wife. Here’s how. We were at a resturaunt ordering dinner. All of a sudden, I looked up and saw her coughing like crazy! Then her eyeball flew out of the socket, and as surprised as I was, I caught it. She came over, took her eye, and sat down. “May I eat with you?”  “Sure,” I said. ” SO do you do this to everybody?” “What?” she asked. “Start coughing so you can catch a meal with them.” “No, actually,” she said “You just caught my eye!” That ‘s the story! Isn’t it great Aim? And indeed it was. The three wierdos lived happily ever after from then on out. Do you know anybody like that? If so, share your story!

Perfectionism. What does it mean? Am I a perfectionist? What is a perfectionist? I will tell you in this post. There are lots of different forms of perfectionism. There is no single meaning. However there is an over all meaning. That meaning is this: Having to be perfect at something. I believe I am a somewhat perfectionist. I have a problem doing projects with others sometimes because when I have an idea and it turns out completely different it bothers me. Especially when I get a bad score or grade it. Usually I can handle it though. I can be very flexible. I can listen to ideas, pretend I’m okay with things that typically turn out great, and try not to imagine the final outcome. Now… What is a perfectionist? A perfectionist is a person who must be perfect at something or in some way. There are type A people, type B people, and type AB people. Type A is a complete perfectionist. Type B is a completely layed back not perfectionist type of person. Type AB people are the people who are inbetween. I believe myself to be an AB type of person. What are you?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

First off, I would like to say, Happy Valentines’s Day to everyone who reads this. Second, I would like to finish my post! 😉 This Valentine’s Day, my school did a mixer for the 6th grade classes. We listened to music and enjoyed snacks and drinks. It was really fun. I especially liked that only the 6th grade got to do it. Anyway, that’s not the only reason I enjoyed Valentine’s Day. I had lots of fun with my friends and family also. My friends and I enjoyed dancing (if you could even call it that) and talking at our party. (: It was a LOT of fun! After I got home me and my brother shared party details. Then he and my dad left for soccer practice. 🙁 After they left, me and my mom made a new voicemail greeting, re-arranged the living room, made dinner, and made a dessert! 😛 (YUM!) Since my brother had soccer practice, we have decided to celebrate our family V-day tomorrow instead of today. Well, I suppose that sums up my story! If you have any exciting, inspiring, fascinating, interesting, happy, sweet, funny, weird, random, sad, bad, angry, Valentines-ey, serious, awesome, cool, warm [;)], detailed, short, long, tall, wide, freaky, boring, or made-up stories about your Valentine’s day, feel free to share them by sending me a comment! 🙂 I would love to hear about how everyone’s special day went. Thanks for reading!

P.S. If you have any suggestions about how I can make my blog more interesting or fun to read, send me a comment about that too! 😀

Here’s a Valentine’s Poem.. Just cause!

I climbed up the door,
And shut the stairs,
I said my shoes
And took off my prayers.
I shut off the bed,
And climbed into the light,
And all because
She kissed me good-night.

More Snow?

snowflake347Last week we had a bit of surprise. What was that surprise you ask? That surprise was the 2011 blizzard! It snowed for almost 3 days! Where I live, we got approximately 1 foot of snow. That’s the most snow we’ve gotten in a long time. Then, last night, it started snowing again! That’s the wierd thing about all the snow this year. Just when it’s almost completely melted and you think you’ll finally be seeing some green, BAM! It snows again!  It was only about an inch this time, but i’m sure will get more! Plus, we actually have more than an inch because of all the snow from last weekend! Some people don’t like the snow, but I love it! I like looking out my window at night and seeing the snow flakes drifting past the street lights. I love how uch my dog, Josey, loves snow. Sometimes, we’ll take her outside and have a snowball fight! It’s really fun. We’ll throw a snowball and she’ll try to eat it. Then she will stick her nose in the snow, and flick it up at us. It’s so funny! I love watching how much fun my ENTIRE family has in he snow. After we’re done playing in the snow, we go inside for some toasty hot chocolate. Then, usually the next day when the snow’s melting, we go outside and build something. I like building forts and tunnels the best. Even though it melts, the mental pictures and fun times are worth more than all the melted snow in the world. If you have had any really fun or funny memories that you would like to share, shoot me a comment and I’ll throw one right back at ya! 😉 Happy snow day wishes to all of you!

Snow Days.

I like to think of snow as a large, white blanket that covers everything. I’m kind of wierd about how it snows though. For instance, if the snow doesn’t cover the grass, I won’t go play in it.  If the snow does cover the grass and plants, I will go play outside. It doesn’t matter to me if it’s good packing snow or not, just as long as it covers up all that dying brown stuff, I’m okay.  🙂

This week we got two snow days, two! And, lucky for me, the snow covered up all of the dying plants. So of course, I was outside most of the day.  The first day, it was mostly snow angels and snowball fights. Then towards the end of the day, me and my brother started building a snow fort! That’s what we worked on all of yesterday, too. Then this weekend, my family and I are going to go sledding, and yesterday, my dad brought home a snowboard. I can’t wait to try it out! I hope everyone who reads this also had a great time in the snow. Happy snow days!!! 🙂

Gratitude-The Things I’m Grateful For and Why

Gratitude noun- the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful: He expressed his gratitude to everyone on the staff.

List of things I’m thankful for and why:

1.) My family because they are always there for me and they really do a lot.

2.)  My friends because they can always make me laugh when I feel sad and, I love them. 🙂

3.) My school because that’s where my friends are and it gives me something to do so I don’t have to sit at home bored.

4.) My home this season because I know there are lots of freezing cold people out here that wish they could have a heating system like mine.

5.) My room because some people have a one room houses and I get my own room that I can decorate and everything.

6.) Home cooked meals because they taste great and they’re much better than any fast food resturaunt I’ve ever been to.

7.) My pets because they’re adorable and even though you have to clean up after them, they’re great because you can play with them and it’s really fun.

These are just a few of the many things I’m thankful for. I know a lot of people are thankful for the same things, but all of  the things listed above have lots of meaning to me. IF you have anything that your thankful for and you want to share, shoot me a comment and tell me all about it! 😀

The Holidays Are Finally Here!

Dear Readers;

The holidays (as in Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) are finally here! Although Christmas is my favorite, I like them all. I’m really excited for the holidays this year. Not really for a specific reason, well, i guess you could say they just mean more to me this year. It’s kinda hard to explain, but I just feel that there’s a lot more to these holidays than getting stuff. I think these holidays are more about having fun woth your family and friends, eating ’til your stuffed, giving, and being kind. These holidays are meant to be fun, but you can havee fun without being greedy. I don’t mean that like, ‘Oh, don’t celebrate the holidays, because that’s bad’. I just mean that there are others out there who don’t get to celebrate, and I’m sure they’d like to. Anyways, have a great rest of the holidays!

Recess at E.L. :D

This year, during recess at E.L. (our gifted class), we have come up with a new game. 🙂 It’s called The Cool Boys University. Coleman was the first to enroll, but Caleb and Joseph were soon to follow. What we do at this university is teach boys to be “cool”. That is basically teaching them how to act like the girliest girl you have ever met. The first class is voice or talking in high-pitched voices and singing. The second class is walking. Hands on you hips, hand out, slow motion, hair flipping, cool-boy walking! The paparazzi even came to see this!  The third class is manners. Laughter: Hand covers mouth while you laugh like ‘tee-hee, tee-hee’. Also you must be as lady-like as possible. When you sit hands are in your lap, ankles are crossed. Other classes involve eating, make-up, hair, etc. It may sound… well… just plain odd, but it’s actually pretty fun! We have a lot of  fun with it. It always makes us laugh when we play it. I would definitely consider playing if your just sitting around somewhere doing nothing. It’s best if you play with lots of people. (It makes it much more fun.) Anyway, go have some fun!

So, You’re Gifted…

WARNING: Before you read this I warn you that it will be long and  might get slightly boring at parts! This is an opinion, NOT a fact. DO NOT take any of these words to heart. I mean no harm to anyone in saying any of this! None of this is meant to offend anybody. Thank You and good day.

Important Saying: ‘I can’t, never did; I won’t, never will’. Remember this.

Gifted to me means that we have the capability to express our creativeness and opinions out loud. We are not afraid to try new things and find out what works and why. I personally love to experiment with new ideas. I don’t know about anyone else, but I know I sure do.  Even if something has already been proved and people think it’s true, I need to know for myself. I find new adventures and experiments EVERYWHERE! But, honestly, just because you don’t like to let people know your smart doesn’t mean you aren’t. People are afraid for many different reasons. Here are the top 5 that I’ve discovered.

1.) They don’t want to be a ‘NERD’.

2.) Emotional reasons.

3.) They’re afraid of  being bullied

4.) They are shy and don’t want to be noticed.

5.) They feel being smart isn’t ‘cool’.

Of course, these aren’t all the reasons, but these are some of the most common reasons. And there is one BIG message I would like to put out there:    Just because your smart, it doesn’t mean your a nerd. If someone has the nerve to tell you that, it is most likely because they are jealous that they can’t be like you. I completely understand being afraid and being shy. In fact, I used to hide behind my mom until I was FIVE, yeah, five years old! It’s all right to be scared. That doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you do what your capable of. Being gifted is a privelage. You should take pride in being gifted not be afraid of it. And don’t get me wrong, everybody is gifted in their own way. Let this be known: EVERYONE has some sort of talent. It doesn’t matter what it is. The most important thing I have to say is DO NOT HIDE FROM YOUR TALENT. I don’t care what it is. Be the best you can be at whatever your good at, and even at the things you don’t think your good at.

Back to the saying from the beginning. If  you don’t get it this is what it means. If you say you can’t I’m going to tell you you’ve never tried and that you don’t know you can’t do something. If you say you never will, I would tell you that because you have tried and don’t like whatever it is, it is fine to say that you won’t do it again, not that you can’t. In fact, I think that can’t shouldn’t even be a word because every body can if they simply try.

                                                     MY SECOND POINT

Today, we did a web quest of self discovery. The first quiz I took way the Myers-Briggs. I learned that I am and ENFP.  That means that I am an outgoing, fun, warm, affectionate, and spontanious kind of person. I like people. ENFP’s get bored easily, but are friendly and enjoyable. The second quiz I took was called True Colours. My dominant color is blue. Color-Blue people are typically emotional and loving. They are there for the people who need them, and they’re good at bringing out the best in them. The third quiz was what our learning styles are. I am a visual learner. That means that it is easier for me to learn things by seeing pictures or reading something. And then there was also a positive and negative checklist-type- thing. (located on Coleman’s blog.) Here is the reflection I wrote about it.

‘My totals for the positive and negative quiz were 14 and 6.  As you can see, I did not have a similar number of positives and negatives. I agreed with most of the characteristics, but there were a few I did not.  For instance, the one about noticing the teacher’s lack of inconsistency. Or the one that said we want to do things our own way. I think they did a good job of putting the statements in either the positive or negative categories. If there was something I could add or change on the list, I would add in the negative section that I sometimes get frusteratedwith friends for making me feel like I can’t fail. Not on purpose, but just when they are shocked because we mess up.’

If you did actually read all of this, Thank You for listening to my thoughts. I know it was long and I’m sorry for that, but this was the best way to get out what I wanted to say. If you read this, I hope that i did not offend you in any way. If i did I send my sincere appologies. Please note that none of this was based on any one person or really any person. Again, thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed learning about what I had to say.
